What is an emergency food need?
Loss of work, health issues, or any problem that would cause a severe financial hardship is considered an emergency situation.
Residents of Murfreesboro and the surrounding cities in Rutherford County (with the exception of Smyrna and La Vergne) who have emergency food needs should come to the Food Bank during business hours and complete an application and interview.
The Staff of the Food Bank carefully screens all applicants.
Upon approval, applicants are supplied with basic food items for several meals to last approximately 4 days.
The following is required each time you come to the Food Bank:
- A Social Security card or document with the SS number on it for each member of your househould
- Proof of your address
- Proof of monthly income for all members of your household
- Receipts for all bills paid with that income
- Your reason for needing emergency food
